Product Description
This slim volume contains an Almanack which includes both general and local information and a Compendium including further local information together with "Enigmas" and local & national advertisements. Altogether it gives a fascinating insight into Nottingham life a few years into Queen Victorias reign.
Pages 9 & 10 of the Almanack (April notes & May calendar) are missing but, from the construction of the original book, this appears to be a manufacturing fault.
The title page of the Railway Guide within the Almanack mentions a map but this is not present. Indeed, the page numbering of that section indicates that the information has been copied from a number of different publications so the map may never have been present.
Some of the page numbering in general is out of sequence. However, all pages are in the order in which they appear in the original, with the exception of the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Assurance Company section (originally inserted between pages 56 & 57) which is presented separately.
Some of the scanned pages appear not to be straight and/or are badly cropped. These are features of the original book rather than the scanning process.
